Green Team have Inspection!

On November 9th 2016, the Green Team of St. Brigid's National School met Mr Darragh Weir from Kildare Co Council, who had a thorough look at the work done by the team and the whole school, in their bid to earn the Biodiversity Green Flag. Darragh was very pleased with the work done to date and gave recommendations to the committee and the co-ordinating teachers, Ms Molloy, Ms O'Halloran and Ms Reddy, on ways to enhance our work and application.

Celebrating the 4th Green Flag June 24th 2015

Green Schools Presentation

Our school has been awarded our 4th Green Flag! This is for the theme of Transport and for our promotion of "green" ways of travelling to school - walking, cycling, scooting!, getiing the bus, car-pooling and stopping the car a distance from the school and striding the rest of the way. Every week a survey is conducted in each class to see how many people came to school in a "green" way. The class with the most improved score each week is awarded The Golden Boot.

Mrs Nurse, Mrs Fox, Ella Moylan, Zoe Conlon ( Chairperson of the Green Schools Committee) and Róisín Brannock travelled to DCU to attend the awards ceremony and to receive our new Green Flag. We will raise the Green Flag on Wednesday 24th June and will also uncover our new school sign which tells everyone of our achievements!
